There is a lot of confusion going on, Redington Shores, Redington Beach, North Redington beach. Every time I hear something "north" I automatically assume there must be a south, but it´s just not true, no such thing as South Redington beach. Anyway, today let´s explore Redington Shores, a little town right here in Pinellas County pretty much in the middle between the Skyway Bridge and the Clearwater Bridge, to be more precise, it is just north of North Redington beach. It sits right on the Gulf of Mexico but also on Boca Ciega bay. Yes, you are right, when you have that much water around you, you better take advantage. Go see beautiful sunsets here in Redington Shores, or go boating and jet skiing, spend day fishing or just relax on the beach. Redington Shores has a lot to offer. It is only 40 minutes from Tampa airport and maybe 30 minutes from Clearwater airport, so people like to come here on vacation or others buy a second home in our area. Redington Shores is a very laid back community here in Pinellas county and it is very small, roughly only 10 blocks long and maybe 4 block wide. There are a few stores and restaurants, but not many. You have to go to Madeira beach or into St. Pete to do most of your shopping. The Town of Redington Shores was incorporated in 1955, and covers 220 acres with 1.19 miles along Gulf Blvd and a total of 6.33 road miles. The Town has four districts. Each district is represented by a Commissioner that is elected by voters.   Redington Shores is a Bicentennial Community with about 2500 people living here. It is north America's largest wild bird hospital. If you have the time, go check it out it is very interesting. There are a few parks in Redington Shores, like the Constitution Park ?on  18214 Gulf Boulevard. It has cooking facilities with restrooms that can be rented for special occasions.  There is also  a children's playground area equipped with a jungle gym and swings, a shuffleboard, a basketball/handball court and a volley ball court area. Another park is Del Bello Park ?at  17925 Gulf Boulevard
A nature refuge park that offers a dock for fishing  the Intracoastal waters.  There are plenty of  benches to enjoy the views and two small pavilions for reading and enjoying the park. If you are a tennis player, you might want to check out the Tennis court located at18325 Gulf Boulevard, next to the Portside Condominium complex.  It offers metered lighting facilities.  The courts are opened from 7:00am to 11:00pm and also offers a small fishing dock on the water.

This pier is awesome, it is  1,020 feet long with a few shelters, benches and restrooms and there is a full-service tackle and bait house. But, please call before you go, they are closed sometimes.
