Information on Saint Pete Beach Tampabay

Saint Petersburg Beach.

Be careful everybody, when someone talks about Saint Petersburg Beach, they might live in the past, about 14 years back. There is NO city by the name of Saint Petersburg Beach. In 1994 the name changed to St. Pete Beach. (I know I was here) that´s when we voted to make it easy and less confusing and we renamed it to St. Pete Beach.  And that´s it. No if and buts about it.

Ok, but this does not help you does it?

Ok, Ok, let´s talk about St. Pete Beach (or whatever you want to call it). To me it is a fantastic little town with lots of things that I love. It has wonderful restaurants, absolutely gorgeous beaches, friendly relaxed people, just the right combination between tourists and residents. It is great for shopping, when it comes to food you can pick between Publix and Sweet Bay, for clothing you have a bunch of unique little boutiques. Window shopping is at its best on Corey Ave and you want to go to the most southern part of St. Pete beach, called Pass a grille. Nice little stores and art and crafts places. In the evening, for a first class meal, you have to go to the Don CeSar, a great place to watch the sunset is the roof top terrace at the Hurricane and a day on the beach with you whole family calls for the Bon Aire beach resort. If you are on a diet and don´t eat dinner, go to the most awesome little theater on Corey Ave. you have to see it and watch a movie. It just has so much atmosphere and character and we all love. They show all kinds of different movies and the tickets are something like $7 or $8 and you can buy beer and wine and take it to your seat. My favorite time to go is Saturday night for the late show, it is the same movie every Saturday and we have developed a little cult here. Not I am not going to tell you witch Movie it is, you might get a wrong impression of me "The Professional Realtor"

If you find out anyway, keep in mind, I am off after 11.30 pm on Saturdays.

Saint Pete Beach a great little town right here in Pinellas County.

We have a little over 10,000 people living in St. Pete Beach, about 30% of them do not live here full time but they own a property and spend their vacation or weekends here.

Our little town is about 6 miles long and covers a bit over 2 square miles. We are very proud of our wonderful wide and white beaches that are 4,5 miles long.
Can you imagine what a wonderful place this is for a long romantic walk into the sunset?
If you are not a beach person than you will still enjoy St. Pete Beach, we have nearly 38 acres of public parks. That gives you all kinds of things to do. I love the new recreation center and everything it has to offer. A lot of people insist that St. Pete beach is called Saint Petersburg Beach.  

Things to do and places to go in St. Pete beach.

Take the whole family to the beach for a nice relaxed day on St. Pete Beach, to have a drink on the wide sandy beach of St. Pete beach and to watch the sunset.

The Bon Aire hotel on St. Pete beach is a great place for you and your family. It is a little family operated Hotel Motel right on the beach on the corner of Gulf Blvd and 46 Ave. in St. Pete beach.

They have a small cute neighborhood beach bar that must tourist never find, the beach is very wide in this spot and all the people bring their kids and it is great to see that families can have fun together.

Hungry?  Why not go for a Hamburger in St. Pete beach

It is not easy to find the place, but it is worth it. Again, off the beaten tract, not your usual tourist place. The "Hide away" I promise, they make the best Hamburgers in town, and they serve food till after 1 am.

The Hide Away in St. Pete beach is located on Gulf Blvd right behind Norman´s liquor store. You can not see it from the street, but pull into the liquor store´s parking lot and go all the way to the end.

Most people, even the ones that live in St. Pete Beach do not now about the Hide Away, a place that has more than fair prices and great food and is open late and is on the water.

Cool place to go for Breakfast in St. Pete Beach. It is right in the sand on the beach all the way south of the Don Cesar Hotel. The Pavilion on Pass a Grille.

It is a cool spot to go in the morning, right after your beach walk and have a cup of coffee or a breakfast right on the beach.

It is located right across the street from the "Hurricane" in St. Pete beach.

You are in St. Pete Beach and now you are hungry for a Pizza.

Why not go to Vito´s and Michaels in St. Pete beach, I really like. It is on Blind Pass road, the north end of St. Pete beach. It is not a big place and it doesn´t look like much from the outside, but their Pizza is awesome and they are open late and serve food till about 2 pm.

Gigi´s on the corner of 46 Ave and Gulf Blvd is also a good choice, but the kind of close early.

Well with the nice sunny weather here in St. Pete Beach you might want to go for some Ice cream. There is one place; you have to go to Larry´s ice cream parlor.

It is an icon on St. Pete Beach and has been there for ever and everybody loves it. It is on the east site of Gulf Blvd in St. Pete beach, I believe around 60th Ave or so. If you get lost, just ask anybody and they can show you the way.

Best coffee in St. Pete Beach

And there is no discussion about it. Trust me on the coffee issue.

There is this little place on Gulf BLVD, and corner of 45th Ave, family owned and operated, been there for years and years. A really great store here in St. Pete beach. It is an Italian bakery and they serve the best espresso and cappuccino you can find in S. Pete beach. They also have really good croissants and I love their bread.

Where to go for Grocery shopping in St. Pete beach.

You have two choices, and I like them both. Alright, I like Publix a little better. It is on Gulf Blvd and 50th Ave in the Dolphin village shopping centre.

I like it because it has a lot of European food and a great produce department.

St. Pete Beach also has a "Sweet Bay" on Blind Pass road, I really do like Sweet Bays, but this one is kind of boring, nothing special about it.

Not in the mood to party today?
Well why you don´t try the beach Theatre in St. Pete Beach, right on Corey Ave. This movie theater so awesome you have to see it. It is small and cozy and you can actually have a glass of wine or a beer while you watch a movie.
Talking about Corey Ave. this is a great street, also call downtown St. Pete beach" to do some shipping and buy some fabulous cloth or shoes or some cool little things that nobody really needs. St. Pete beach has so much to offer; I won´t be able to mention it all but make sure that you stop at PJ´s, a local fish restaurant.
Their Chicago oysters are out of this world. In the mood for a happy hour drink and some fun people here in St. Pete Beach? Why not go to the Hurricane in Pass a Grille. Other than right on the beach, this is probably the best spot to watch the sunset here in St. Pete beach. The Hurricane has a nice open air bar on the third floor and you get the best view onto the nightly sunset here in St. Pete beach.
If you are staying in the St. Pete Beach Yacht and Tennis Club, the Courages or Intrepid or Constellation or Weatherly, you have an easy walk just across the street to Carino´s Italian restaurant.
The food is great, the service is great and they have been in St. Pete beach for many years. For a late night drink and some music you might want to try Max and Sam´s a nice restaurant with a lounge close to the Pasadena bridge. Lunch, try Woody´s a local hang out right on the Blind Pass waterway in St. Pete beach. There fish spread is great.
